Obituary for Glen R. Willis Sr.

Glen R.  Willis Sr.
Glen R. Willis Sr., 78 of Loudon passed away April 10, 2018. He was a lifelong resident of Loudon and a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Loudon where he served as deacon since Nov. 7, 1982. He served in the Army National Guard for nine years. He was an excellent example of being steadfast and faithful. He loved his church and family, but above all, God was first. He worked for Dr. Samuel Harrison as his farm manager for thirty three years. He loved farming and working with cattle. He enjoyed watching basketball and football, especially UT. He loved spending time with his family. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur “Dago” Willis and Phoeba Jane Willis; siblings, Cecil and Junior Willis and Gail Brown, and two children, Glenda and Cecil Willis. Survived by: loving wife of 57 years, Alice “Patsy” Willis; children, Ray (Vanessa) Willis and Kim (Rick) Bridges; grandchildren, Brock Galyon, Destiny and Trey Willis, Bailey Bridges and Tyler “TJ” Silvey; great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Carter Silvey; sisters, Faye (Bobby) Miller and Sharon Robinson along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Funeral service will be 7pm Thursday April 12 at Loudon Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Thomas, Rev. Paul “Yogi” White and Rev. Jamey Patterson officiating. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, at New Macedonia Cemetery with military honors provided by the Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends 5pm - 7pm Thursday prior to the funeral service. Loudon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
