Douglas L.  Ballard
Douglas Lee “Doug” Ballard, of Loudon, passed away Friday morning, April 20, 2018. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He loved his family especially his grandchildren. They brought new joy to his life. Doug enjoyed working outside, fishing, softball and He loved life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mayme Lou Ballard; and his stepdaughter, Tonya Williams. He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Ballard; son, Lee (Julia) Ballard, grandchildren, Hannah and Derek Ballard; great nephew, Sam Smith and many special friends and family that stopped by and visited. “We thank God for them”. The family will receive friends 2pm - 4pm Sunday at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 4pm. Rev. James Mason and Rev. Ron Davis will be officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at Davis Cemetery with Rev. Gary Cook officiating. Military honors will be provided by the US Army and the Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard.
