Rev. Bobby D. Simpson, 83, of Philadelphia, passed away Thursday morning December 22 at NHC Healthcare in Athens. Preceded in death by parents, Edward Fred and Hassie Dishner Simpson; wife, Gearldine Simpson; brother, Leroy Simpson; sister, Mary Edna Simpson and brothers-in-law, Pete Jackson and George Beals. Survivors: wife, Nancy Simpson, of Philadelphia; step-daughter, Johnnie Easter; step-granddaughter, Erica and Joe Gray; step-grandson, Colby and Kayla Easter; step-great granddaughter, McKenna Easter; sister, Betty Faye Brewer; sisters-in-law, Betty Simpson, Alma “Peanut“ Jackson and Charlotte Atkins; nephews, Kenneth Simpson, Keith Brewer and Jamie Brewer; niece, Debbie Ingle; Aunts, Mary Simpson and Wanda Simpson. Funeral service will be 7:00 pm Friday, Loudon Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Rick Kirkland officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 am Saturday, at New Macedonia Cemetery for graveside service. The family will receive friends Friday, 5:00 - 7:00 pm, prior to the service.
