Douglas Franklin "Doug"  Harris
Douglas “Doug” Franklin Harris, 87, of Philadelphia, TN, passed to his heavenly home on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. He was born November 15, 1929, in Philadelphia, TN to the late Joe B. Harris and Theodore Wendle Harris. Upon graduation from Sweetwater High School in 1948, he joined the United States Air Force, serving honorably from 1950 - 1954. He was a member of Cedar Valley Baptist Church, Sweetwater, TN. He retired from ORGDP, K-25, Oak Ridge. He greatly enjoyed woodworking and farming. He is survived by wife, Violet Clinton Harris; daughters, Janet Harris Jackson, Chattanooga, and Lisa Harris Taylor (Lynn), Cleveland; grandchildren, Christian Alexander Jackson (Courtney), Chattanooga, and Joshua Lynn Taylor, Mt. Juliet; great
grandson, Blaize Wade Jackson; brother and sister in law, Dan and Robbie Harris, Philadelphia; and special cousins and friends. Graveside service will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, March 3, at Loudon County Memorial Gardens, with Mr. Lynn Taylor officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard and the Air Force Honor Guard. Family and friends will meet at Loudon Funeral Home, at 12:15 pm, for procession to the cemetery for the graveside service. Pallbearers: Christian “Alex” Jackson, Caleb Watson, Dale Knox, Charlie Harris, Jr., Charlie Harris III, Lynn Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers: Damian Crawford, Josh Watson. Loudon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
